Want Natural Looking Lipstick?

I've recently discovered a great lipstick.  It's actually in the form of a lip pencil, but it has a gloss or shine to it, so it's not matte.  The brand is Purminerals.  I know, the name and idea sounds like a rip off to Bare Minerals, but I like a lot of their products.  I have a blush from them called Hot Rocks, and it's very light and natural looking with a little shine.  I like that the products look natural but are quite flattering and not dull.

The lipsticks/liners come in a pack of four (at Ulta) and it costs $28, which is actually pretty good considering the quantity.  I bought only one of that type from Benefit for the same price.  If you go online they are $12 each, so it would come out to $52 with tax, so it's a pretty good bargain.  There's one color that's a bit barbie pink which I'm not a huge fan of, but it's still worth the price and it's still quite light and natural so it's not over the top.

So next time you're in Ulta check out their products, you might like them!

Hair Smoother

Pureology  Pureology SuperSmooth Smoothing Elixir 2.5 fl oz (75 ml)

I hear from a great source that the Pureology SuperSmooth Smoothing Elixir is a great product, if not the best, to keep your hair silky smooth without weighing it down.  It's light and keeps your hair manageable by keeping those frizzy stray-aways down.  So if you're looking for something (that actually works) to tame that mane of yours, this just might be for you!

Voluminous Hair

Here's another video from Kandee Johnson, the makeup artist.  I love her!  She is super cute and funny and totally herself in her videos.  But besides that, she has great tips!  This one is how to get voluminous hair.  I've taken up her suggestions and found them to be quite helpful, hopefully you will too :)

Have a great weekend!

Arbonne

Arbonn
I love Arbonne face products.  They make me very happy :)  If you have sensitive skin, tend to break out, or have dry skin, these products are the best.  Well it's great for any skin type, but especially if you have skin troubles.  It's basically the best combination of natural products mixed with a bit of science.

The three items I'd recommend are the face wash, night creme, and under-eye cream.

I used to used simple Cetaphil and couldn't help but notice the huge difference it made using such a nice face wash.  My skin is super soft and clear with this face wash.

The lotion is super creamy and is such a difference than any other face lotion I've ever tried.  You don't need very much and it goes a long way because it's so moist.

The eye cream is the only eye cream that I've ever noticed where I can actually feel a difference.  It truly does tighten the soft area underneath the eye.

So if you're willing to invest the money, your skin will love you for it!

Natural Lips

I don't know about you but I feel like I'm on a never ending search to find the perfect lipstick/lip liner/ lip color. I can't ever seem to find something that has the right color, but also doesn't look too done up when I don't want to be. But I think I found the perfect product for me

So this item is pretty pricey ($24)- which is why it's on my wish list :) But I think it will be well worth the cost!

The product name is NARS. I love their products which are very high quality, hence the high cost. But what I do have lasts forever and looks great.

This product is a lip pencil. The reason why I love it is because I put it on my lips and it gives it a natural color (Bettina). I love the texture because it doesn't look like I'm wearing any lipstick, but still gives me enough color to give me a boost. Also, it's great because if I do want to put some lip gloss over it, it helps keep the color and texture of the lip gloss.

So go check out the colors. Maybe you won't find a color you love and it's not the perfect fit for you. But if you're curious or like me and always trying to find a natural lip color but still gives enough color to make a difference on your face, then it's worth a try :) Have fun!

Beautiful Face

These are my two favorite face products.  You all know about Bare Minerals, right?  Some people like it, some don't.  I have sensitive skin and this is the only face makeup that doesn't break me out, and I think it looks pretty natural and not cakey.

What some people don't like about it, are two things:
1.  It is (was) super shiny and can be tough for people with shiny complexions (like me), and
2. It is (was) limited in colors.

Well...there's something called Bare Minerals MATTE and it takes care of the extra shine that some people don't like.  I think Bare Minerals Matte is more natural looking than any other face powder out there, including Mac.  But hey, maybe that's just me.

The second thing is that they USED to be limited in colors, but now they've added a few shades in between, which I'm SUPER excited about!  I used to be between Fairly Light and Light, the first being too light and the later too dark.  Now they have Golden Fair, which is in between and perfect for me.  There are also new additions in the Medium complexion line, for those with pink undertones ( the Light line is for those with yellow undertones in case you were wondering).

It's also pretty reasonable in price.  There is some super expensive mineral makeup out there, like Laura Mercier or Makeup Forever, and they're at least $40 - $45.  This lasts me at least 3 months, usually longer.  So you can't go wrong for the price and the quality product you're getting.

The second thing that's my favorite is the Too Faced Kabuki Retractable Brush.  I HATED the kabuki brush from Bare Minerals, DON'T BUY THAT ONE!  The one from Bare Minerals is made with real hair, but you don't want that because over time the hair gets brittle and it hurts to put it on your face, even if you clean it often.

This one from Too Faced is synthetic, and so are the other nice ones (that are the same price as Bare Minerals Kabukis.)   It is super soft and smooth and will always stay that way since it's synthetic.  I also love that it's retractable!  Not only because it's convenient that I can put a lid on it in my makeup bag either.  If there's an area that I want the coverage to go on heavier, like over a blemish or around my nose,  I pull up the sides of the brush and it makes the hairs pull tightly together, instead of being spread out, and it makes it easy to put on heavier coverage or pin point a specific area where I want it.

So there you have it!  Hope you have a beautiful weekend and a Happy Halloween!  I'll see you Monday!

Falsies Mascara Review

So, I said last week that I'd try this Falsies Volume Mascara out and let you know what I thought about it!  I actually really like it! I'm surprised, I did think I would.  First off, it was $7.99, a dollar cheaper than Loreal Original Mascara.  On Amazon it's only $5 right now and it also was at my Albertsons.  Score!  So it is cheaper than Loreal, which is always a plus.

I like the texture it makes my eyelashes.  It makes them feel stiff, which is good.  When the mascara is too wet, it makes eyelashes soft and then they tend to droop and don't stay long and voluminous or keep their curl.  I feel like they stay "up" all day, if that makes sense.

It doesn't give a TON of volume which I usually prefer, but I don't mind it because it doesn't look so clumpy or weigh down my eyelashes.  It helps them stay more distinct and defined.

I do like how it looks, but it wasn't after ONE layer that I got them to look that way.  I had to work at it and put quite a few layers on.  So if you're looking for something you can just dab on real quick, this isn't for you.  It takes quite a few applications to make it look good.  BUT, I never had to reapply during the day which is awesome!

As you can see from the picture above, the bushels are slightly bent and the purpose of that is to get all the lashes at once so as to make the application even.  There is a weird bend in the stem of the brush though, so it's a little different than the usual brushes.  You can barely see it in the picture above of the wand but it's about half way between the handle and the brush.  When you put pressure on the brush by applying it to your eye lashes, the brush bends a little bit.  The first time I put it on I made a mess because I wasn't used to the flimsiness.  But I got used to it and I guess it's there to help apply it more evenly to all the lashes.

It doesn't make me look like I'm wearing fake eyelashes like it promises, but I like how it makes my eyelashes very distinct.  I would definitely recommend it and I will buy it again when it runs out!

Have a great Friday and enjoy the weekend!  I'll see you Monday for some cardio workouts!

I Feel Pretty, Oh So Pretty

My favorite lip gloss right now is Neutrogena Lip Gloss. They have a wide variety of different colors to match your skin tone. The best thing about them is at Walgreens, and Ulta, I've seen them for buy one get one free, or buy two get one free quite frequently. The reason why I like them is they are not sticky. I can't stand sticky lips. They give enough color to enhance your lips, but it's not overpowering. There is also a tiny hint of sparkles or shine (but not over the top) that is very flattering and makes it no such a dull color. They also moisturize your lips and make them smooth, unlike most lip glosses. I'm a fan.

The winter months are coming on, but who looks good pasty white? Self tanner can be quite a pain to put on, not to mention the smell. That's why I love this tinted moisturizer Lumene Body Aktiva Shimmering and Moisturizing Body Lotion. I got it at CVS 3 years ago for $10 and I still probably have 1/3 of it left (since I also don't wear it as much in the summer when I have a natural tan.) You really can't beat that price for what you get. I like it because it's fast, I just throw it on my arms, neck and chest above my shirt line, and I'm ready to go. I don't have to wash my hands, or wait 20 minutes to let it dry. It washes off when I shower since it's not a self tanner, but it doesn't matter because it takes less than 30 seconds to put on. Also, the color isn't overpowering, on my skin at least. The good self tanners can be up to $25-$40 and I'm just not sure I'm willing to make that investment. I will admit, it's not very moisturizing and the texture is quite thin, but that's not why I bought it so I don't care. Also, it says "shimmering" but I don't walk out of the house beaming like I just rolled around in a bunch of sparkles. I hate that. It has just enough to give you color, but it looks natural. It just gives you a little hint of color so you don't look so pasty.

My Loreal Original Mascara (which is my favorite) is running out so it's time for me to buy mascara. I'm going to venture out and buy this Maybelline Falsies Mascara and tell you what I think of it next week. I'll see if it's clumpy and unnatural looking or smooth and gives me volume. We'll see how it compares to the Loreal brand. Check in next week's Beauty Friday to see if it's worth buying.

We'll see if my eyelashes turn out like this model for the mascara. Do they really think that WE think those are real?! Oh advertising.

How to Tweeze the Perfect Eyebrows

This girl, Kandee Johnson has SO many helpful beauty tip videos. She has some on blowdrying and straightening your hair to get the most volume, dying your hair, whitening your teeth for cheap, tons of makeup tips, and she tells of good cheap products to get to save money. This one is how to tweeze your eyebrows. I do it this way and I love it because before I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but didn't want to pay to get them professionally done.

The Best Mascara

I've tried Mabelline, Lancome, Two Faced, Benefit, and tons of other mascaras that weren't always cheap. My favorite mascara hands down is Loreal Voluminous Original. I know people have different opinions about mascara, but this one is my favorite. You can get it for as low as $4.50. Once I tried this I never wasted my money on a $25 mascara again. Try it out and see if you like it.

You can see the difference for yourself.

This one above is Loreal Voluminous Black.

This one is Lancome mascara for at least $25, maybe more.

Beauty Day: Mascara

I haven't done a beauty day in a while and I'm missing it! So I had to share what I think about mascara.

These are most of the mascaras I've tried and the order is from best to least favorite:

Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black: This one works surprisingly best in my opinion. Which I'm glad for because it's also much cheaper than most of them. It makes my eyelashes long and thick. Good combination.

Lancome- Definicils: I do love this one but it gets pricy at $24 just for mascara. But it makes my eyelashes nice and long.

Two Faced- I actually liked this one. I know some people don't like it. It actually coats your eyelashes and puts little tube-like things on them so that it makes them bigger. It makes them look nice and thick. But for some reason the second time I bought it, I wasn't as satisfied with it so I stopped. Plus, it's too expensive if I'm not totally satisfied with it.

Mabelline: This one is alright. I know a lot of people rave about it, but it doesn't make them thick enough and I find it to be runny a lot of the time.

Benefit- Bad Gal: This was a waste of money. I thought it made my eyelashes clumpy.
