Box it In or Out

This is one of the simplest yet brilliant concepts for controlling fattening but delicious foods. It's from the book The Thin Commandments. The concept goes like this:

There are certain foods that you know you can't live without and it would be a shame to say you could never eat them again. Those types of foods, you box them in. That means you are allowed to have that food, but only certain times, dates, and amounts. Example: Pecan Pie is super fattening. But instead of saying you can NEVER have it, you say I can have it Thanksgiving, and I can have one piece. You've boxed it in. You given yourself certain restrictions to that food.
Then there are some that you completely box out, or keep them boxed out for most of the year, like pecan pie. For me, I'd box out Oreo cookies. They are good, but not really worth my calories, and I'm never satisfied with only 1 or 2. So I box them out.

That might sound cheesy, but it's a different way of looking at certain foods, or a way of having those foods that you absolutely love and can't live without!
