Weight Ceiling

Dr. Steven Gullo who wrote, The Thin Commandments, has this idea that if you set yourself a weight ceiling and never allow yourself to get over that mark, you'll never get out of control. This ceiling is not even your ideal weight. It's a generous weight you give yourself, but one that you don't want to be above. For me, I would set it at 10 pounds above where I usually like to be comfortably, but not 10 pounds above my "ideal" weight. Get it? This is how he explains why it's so important:

"The Creep Syndrome. People don't go to bed trim and wake up heavy. Weight gain is a slow, subtle process that often goes undetected. Most people don't get too alarmed if they gain a pound or two. Or, they rationalize. You might hear, "It's only 1 or 2 pounds, so it's not a big deal." Before too long, those 2 pounds have morphed into 3, and that same person says, "It's just 3 pounds." And the 3 becomes 5, and 8, and then 10.
This is why I insist that you set a weight ceiling, guard it, and make no excuses. And if that number starts to go up, take action! Before you even realize it, those 5 or 6 pounds can turn into 15 or even 20."
