Foods to Avoid- Phase I (Ultra Metbolism Cont'd)

If you want to take the challenge and change your life and health by getting rid of processed foods with man-made (trans fats and hydrogenated oils) fats, here are the things to avoid. Don't worry, there is a list just as long of things you can eat and enjoy :)

These are items to ELIMINATE, basically forever because they are not good for our bodies:

  • Refined or non-whole grain flour products, all types of bagels, breads, rolls, wraps, and pastas
  • Sugar- candy, cookies, cereals, pastries, pies, sodas, etc.
  • Artificial sweeteners- Aspartame, Stevia
  • Sugar alcohols- sorbitol, maltitol
  • Artificial colors
  • Hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils
  • Canola and Peanut Oils
  • Fat Substitutes- Benefat, Olean
  • Sodium Nitrate
  • Caffeinated drinks
This next list is to detox your body for TWO weeks. You don't always have to be this strict, but if you're ready to clean out your system and start on a clean slate, these are foods to avoid:

It has you avoiding dairy and wheat products to see if your body is allergic or has reactions to them. So once the two weeks are up and you incorporate them into your diet and get headaches, stomach aches, changes in digestion, changes in you skin (acne) muscle aches, etc, then you'll know what you're allergic to, because everyone is different. Look for following posts on PHASE II, which incorporates more food into your diet, after the detox for two weeks.
